Martuku Watkamutiku on Nifty Site

Martuku Watkamutiku employees, Jeremy Sammy and Gavin Nanudie were on site at Nifty mine for a week in the first part of May 2024. Working together with General Manager, Les O’Neill, the MW team spent the week controlling weeds like Buffel Grass, Ruby Dock and Kapok.

Nifty site has been in care and maintenance since the end of 2019, Cyprium is looking to reopen the mine in the future. The site has only seven staff, with capacity for many more. Cyprium is busy maintaining and repairing operational equipment and assets, in preparation for their reopen.

It was a good opportunity for MW to meet the key Cyprium staff, and to show how hard Martu work. Cyprium staff were very impressed, and there is potential for MW to come back for other work as Nifty gears up.
